Hello All,
After seeing my best possible options to go there, I plan on going on January 2025. But before I get my tickets in advance, I wanted to ask if I need to do anything I should do before the flight or on the flight before I land in Japan? Paperwork, passes for places (based on the places I wanted to go), services? It is my first time and I want to know more even if it is the same info than not know and learning the hard way.
My current plan is to do a 14 day trip from Jan 7 to the 21st. But it will possibly be a 12 day trip since the ride lands on Jan 8th and I want to be near the airport on the 20-21st to avoid tardiness. I know I am spending most of my time in the train, but I dont mind that. If you see any flaws with the plan, let me know and I can see what things I can take out or add. It is not set in stone, but it is something I plan on doing.
I will be going from ORD (Ohare) and land in Haneda Airport. My plan was to go the farthest from the airport and work my way back to the airport instead of going near the airport and then going to the west to avoid rushing my trip and having that in the back of my mind.
Day 1 – I would land at around Jan 8th at 5:45pm, which I assume the time over there. I would be waiting About an hour to get my things and so I will possibly get out at around 7pm. I would plan to stay the rest of that day near the airport/ train station so I can go to my first place via train.
Day 2, I would use the train to go to Hiroshima via train as it will be a 4hr 30min-ish ride. And I would likely spend 2 days there before I go to Osaka. I would plan to leave in the morning and then get our at midday. I would find a place to leave my bags and then check Hiroshima out with the time left in the day.
Day 3, I would continue seeing Hiroshima out and go to some sites before I head to Osaka. I would leave to Osaka later that day and find a place to spend the rest of the night or go out at nighttime since there is night life over there. I plan to stay in Osaka for 5 days.
Day 4, I would prob be later in the day, but I will check other places that I wanted to go and check out.
Day 5, I would use the train to go to the Godzilla Museum and check out what they have there as I am a fan of the franchise.
Day 6, I would check more places I wanted to check and get some merch for myself. I plan on collecting some receipts for the things I get as a souvenir to carry with me.
Day 7, This would be my final day in osaka and I would use the rest of day to go to Mt. Fuji, where I would spend the next 2 days. I would use the remainer of the day top find a place to stay in Mt. Fuji
Day 8, Would explore Mt. Fuji as I seen it only in photos and see what else interests me
Day 9, I would get some souvenirs from Mt. Fuji. for the fam and friends who wanted to get something from here. And would use the train to get to Tokyo in order to spend the rest of the time here.
Day 10, I would use this day to check anything farthest to the north in order to make it less of a hassle. I dont mind if it gets late as I would be staying the most time in Tokyo
Day 11, I would probably do the same as day 10 in order to get to different areas that I have not went to or forgot to go to.
Day 12, I would be checking out some neighborhoods out so I can see how Tokyo is during the day and visit sites I see in some movies. And also eat some Wagyu at some location (any recommendations). and get some merch for myself and fam.
Day 13, I would spend the day near and check some stores out that I wanted to check out before I go in order to get some things I wanted to get out. I will also spend some time getting my things ready.
Day 14, I plan to use this day to stay near the airport as I don't want to cause any issues with being tardy. I will probably head on the way to the airport with some time to spare in order to get there on time and have some time as it would be my first time returning from an international airport.
If you made it this far, thank you for sticking all the way and you deserve a cookie. 🙂
