You can ignore step 2 (CELTA) but the other steps are important.
However, to be honest, I would recommend getting a PhD right after your Masters. Many schools offer integrated programs where you can the PhD just 2 years after the MA. Many Universities are starting to require PhDs for the “good” positions so I would recommend getting that.
The number one thing here is networking.
