Driving through Japan Alps in November

Hi it will be the first time we book a car during Japan trip and I need some advice!

Part of the itinerary includes:
5 Nov – Drive from Matsumoto to Magome. Walk through Nakasendo trail from Magome to Tsumago. Take a bus back to Magome. Drive back to Matsumoto.
6 Nov – Drive from Matsumoto to Shinhotaka Ropeway. Take the round trip cable car. Drive from Shinhotaka Ropeway to Hirayu Onsen. Take a round trip bus to Kamikochi (since car is not allowed to enter). Finally, drive to Takayama and stay in a hotel there.
7 Nov – Drive from Takayama to Ogimachi village in Shirakawago. Visit Hakusan – Shirakawago White Road. Back to Takayama again.

Is it necessary to get winter tire? I am concerned that the road condition at high altitude area like Hirayu Onsen and Shinhotaka Ropeway will be slippery with ice and snow in early November. Toyoto rent a car shop that I am planning to rent a car from does not have winter tire.

Do you see any flaw with this itinerary.
Anything I need to be aware of? Thank you for the help!
