おはようございます！I’m a longtime lover of Animal Crossing, and I studied Japanese for the equivalent of three years during my undergraduate college career. If I can get my hands on a cartridge and adapter for my N64, I was interested in playing the OG Animal Crossing which came out as Animal Forest for the Nintendo 64. However, it was only released in Japan and thus is only available to play in Japanese.
My Japanese speaking level is definitely higher than my reading level—of course I can read kana pretty smoothly, but I definitely slacked on studying my kanji properly in college 😭 I was wondering if any of you played 動物の森 and can speak to the level of Japanese required to enjoy the game properly. Of course, part of the reason I’m motivated to try playing this game is to improve my reading skills, so I’m totally okay if it will take me a bit of effort.
