Advice for a fictional work set in Japan regarding sensitivity to American Internment Camps, Nuclear Power, and Nuclear Arms

Hi! I am currently working on a piece of fiction set in Japan that has sensitive historical elements such as the west coast internment camps of the 1940s, and elements regarding nuclear power and arms. These three subjects are central to the plot, but none more than nuclear energy and arms. I want to see what the modern Japanese feel about these subjects, out of respect for the people of the great nation of Japan. Thank you very much.
