For reference, I’ve long since graduated from college with no real plans of going back, but I’m fortunate enough that I can afford the time to study in Japan next year without working. I want to live in Osaka (first choice) or another city in Kansai and I’d want to go for 6 to 9 months.
I tried contacting JaLS in Kyoto, but they don’t offer student visas. According to the website for Kansai College and business school, they only offer student visas for at least 1 year (and I’d rather not just “decide to quit” after 9 months). I previously considered ARC academy but Google says they closed, and maybe ECC but their reviews on Google are terrible.
Even if your experience was pre-pandemic, does anyone have any recommendations?

Communica in Kobe will facilitate a student visa for 6 months or more.
failing osaka, maybe try language schools in nagoya like [i.c nagoya](https://icn.gr.jp/english/1-year-course.html)
Basically, a student visa is required to study at a Japanese language school for more than 3 months. Basically, after applying to the school and being accepted, students need to apply for and be screened by the Japanese Immigration Office to receive it.
However, few Japanese language schools offer 6-month courses, and almost none offer 9-month courses. This is because many schools offer courses for one year or longer.
As motomotoaijin-san said, “COMMUNICA INSTITUTE” offer a 6-month course.
