Traveling with my family mid-November and our current itinerary is…
5 nights Tokyo
2 nights Takayama
5 nights Kyoto
5 nights Tokyo
We're getting the Kansai-Hiroshima Area Pass for day trips for when we're in Kyoto (i.e. Kobe, Nara, Hiroshima), so we will be paying for individual tickets for the rest of the trip. I realized a plane ticket from Osaka to Sapporo and Sapporo to Tokyo is a tad cheaper than a shinkansen from Kyoto to Tokyo. We've never been to the Hokkaido area and was wondering if it's worth flying there for 2 nights/3 days? So the new itinerary would look like…
5 nights Tokyo
2 nights Takayama
5 nights Kyoto
2 nights Sapporo
3 nights Tokyo
The last 5 nights in Tokyo are the only accommodations we can change without being charged a fee. From what I've read in other posts, late November will be gloomy and chilly, so I'm a little hesitant and thinking of staying with the current plan. I would love to hear your advice and I'm also open to suggestions for other parts of Japan for those 2 nights, maybe somewhere on the transit back to Tokyo.
Thank you! 🙂
