If there are separate terms for modern day imperial princesses vs historical ones, then obviously let me know that part too. I know ōjo is a term used more specifically to refer to a "king's daughter" as opposed to just a high-born woman, but I can't figure out if it's only used for kings (i.e European and other non-Japanese rulers' daughters) or if it's used for the emperor's daughter too.
While we're at it, what term would we use for the Japanese empress? What about their sons? Am I correct in assuming that ō would be used for a European king and joō for a European Queen?
