Itinerary check and what to do with two extra nights. First time traveller (November)

H!
I'm (M31) travelling to Japan for the first time this November. I'm solo travelling and staying for about three weeks.

I currently have these plans and only the hotel for the first 5 nights in Tokyo have been booked, so I am open to making changes if anyone has any good ideas for improvements 🙂

Spend 5 nights in Tokyo (Staying in Shinjuku):

  • 6th + 7th: My plane arrives early in the morning the 6th of November, and I didn't want to plan too much specifically for that day since I dont know how bad the jetlag will be. So the plan is to use both these days to explore Shinjuku and Shibuya.
  • 8th: Visit one of the teamlabs, Tsukiji and walk around Ginza for a bit
  • 9th: Daytrip to the Mt. Fuji-area, leaning towards Kawaguchiko.
  • 10th nov: Visit the Imperial Palace, Akihabara and Korakuen Garden (Might skip this if I am low on energy/time or find something else more tempting that day).
  • 11th: Travel to Kanazawa

Spend 2 nights in Kanazawa:

  • 11th: Arrive from Tokyo. Start visiting some of the things on the list for tomorrow if I have the energy/time, otherwise just relax and wander around the city.
  • 12th: Full day in Kanazawa. Visit Higashi/Kazuemachi Chaya District, Kanazawa Castle Park, Kenroku-en, Nagamachi District, Omicho Market and the "Ninja temple" if I have the time/energy.
  • 13th: Take the train to Hiroshima early in the morning

Spend 1 night in Hiroshima:

  • 13th: Arrive from Kanazawa, check-in at hotel and visit the Peace Memorial Museum and the Atomic Bomb Dome.
  • 14th: Take a quick visit to Hiroshima Castle (probably only look at it from the grounds outside) and visit Shukkeien Garden if I have the time/energy. Then take a mid-day train to Kyoto.

Spend 4 nights in Kyoto:

  • 14th: Arrive from Hiroshima, check-in at the hotel and take a stroll around the Gion/Higashiyama-area.
  • 15th: Spend the day walking around and visiting sights at the eastern side of Kyoto.
  • 16th: Head to the other side of Kyoto visiting the bamboo forest, Arashiyama Monkey Park and Kinkaku-ji.
  • 17th: Visit the Imperial Palace and maybe attend a guided sake-tour/tasting afterwards.
  • 18th: Take the morning train to Osaka.

Spend 4 nights in Osaka:

  • 18th: Arrive from Kyoto. Leave the bag at hotel and attend a 2-3 hour ramen class. Visit the Teamlabs Exhibition at the botanical garden in the evening.
  • 19th: Day trip to Nara.
  • 20th: Attend a morning sushi-class for 2-3 hours, spend the rest of the day wandering around Osaka.
  • 21st: Day trip to Kobe (or maybe to Himeji Castle with a short stop in Kobe on my way back to Osaka).
  • 22nd: Take the morning train to (?)

What to do for these two nights?

  • 22nd: ??
  • 23rd: ??
  • 24th: Take morning train to Tokyo

Spend 3 nights in Tokyo (Staying in Asakusa):

  • 24th: Arrive in Tokyo. Check-in at the Hotel and explore the Asakusa-area (Senso-ji, Tokyo Skytree and just wander around a bit).
  • 25th: A day trip somewhere maybe? Thinking of Yokohama/Kamakura
  • 26th: Last full day in Japan, buy some gifts for friends and family back home and just wander around Tokyo with no plans or if there are some things that I wanted to do in Tokyo earlier but didn't find time for.
  • 27th: Head to the airport (Haneda) for a flight at around 9 am.

So with these plans I have a few days leftover. So far I am considering spending those days/nights on one of these things:

  1. Add one more night each to Kyoto and Hiroshima so I can visit Miyjajima when in Hiroshima and just have more spare time/rest days in Kyoto
  2. Spend both of the extra nights in Hiroshima (day trip each to Miyajima and Fukuoka)
  3. Visit Takayama
  4. Change the day trip to Mt. Fuji to a trip where I stay for one or two nights.

If anyone have any comments/critiques to my planned itinerary or some suggestions for what I could do with my two spare nights it would be greatly appreciated 🙂
