Trying to put a sentence together and struggling

If I wanted to say that I’m copying someone/something how would I do so? Does the thing I’m copying become the topic or do I stay the topic? Like let’s say I wanted to say I’m copying Tatsuos recipe, would I say わたしは　達郎の　レシピを　うつす。　I feel like that’s not right.
