My wife and I are going to be leaving Japan sometime in the next 3 months or so,
and I'm just beginning to organize the move (like shipping out the first boxes).
I'm not sure though how to get rid of our furniture in the end? There are things (like the futon, mattress, dining table) that we will basically be using until the day we hand off the keys and leave for the airport.
Can I contact the city to schedule a special garbage pick-up? I don't drive and don't have a car, so getting everything to a collection point somewhere would require careful planning in advance.
Has anyone been through this process before?
