skipping jlpt n2 to n1

i've passed the n3 back in december of 2023 and have been casually studying for n2, but my school has an internship offer which i am very interesting in which requires n1

have any of yall fully skipped a test and went towards the next? yes i understand n2 grammar and words will be used in n1, but ik i can grind it out by july of next year. wondering if yall encountered any unexpected hurdles that you wouldn't have if you just took n2 then n1
