I am a freshman in college, soon to be a sophmore. I love learning Japanese, (started studying by myself and then transitioned to taking it in college, I'm gonna be the lowest level of fluency soon!) and love young children. I have always thought about a job in teaching however being American and having to teach in America scares me, a lot. So many people and teachers talk about how bad it can be working at the schools post Covid, it was bad pre covid as well. I am undecided however I think this is the job I would like to pursue. I am a Black woman and I have read posts about how people of all races love teaching English in other countries. However, a lot of these posts are older, and I haven't seen newer ones.
Do you guys all like your jobs, has it been rewarding? Is it sustainable long term or just short term, and is there any advice you think I should know as an undecided freshman?
