I tend to notice a lot of people talking about horrible pays in eikaiwas and teaching. I see them A LOT. I ask them how much they’re making and they just disappear in thin air. I wonder how shit is the shit pay? I reckon 250k is the average? Is 270 with subsidized housing good?
I’m not really an actual “teacher” my job is more playing and entertaining the kids in english while the other one is entertaining and playing with kids in Japanese instead. I work at 2 schools with 2.5 hours break and 6.5 hours work time. Travel time between schools is 30 mins which is also paid. It’s a very chill work.
I also see a lot of people talking about how hard it is? I can’t say anything since I’m not really teaching English.
I live in a city somewhere under Nagoya. And theres also a pay raise every year (according to my foreigner workmates)
