Hello Tokyo,
My wife and I need an interpreter for an appointment at the hospital. My wife is pregnant and this is for the first appointment to confirm she is indeed pregnant and discuss having the delivery at this hospital. The hospital has English speaking doctors, but the first appointment does not involved doctors and therefore they require we come with an interpreter.
We of course expect to pay for this service, the only issue is that we do not know how long the appointment lasts, however we expect it to be around an hour. We would pay an hourly rate for however long it lasts (or a minimum of 1-2 hours if the meeting is short), plus any other transportation fees.
We have contacted our ward that offers interpreter services, but they actually do not offer medical ones anymore (apart from phone ones, but the hospital wants someone here).
The hospital is very close to Kashiwa station (technically Chiba but easy to access from Tokyo).
Our appointment is this Saturday 21st of September at 1:45PM
Thanks in advance !
