I’m currently on a long term medical leave, according to my doctor it’s not unlikely that I might need longer time than initially given to recover. Due to the tenure at my current company, if I extend my medical leave I’ll also automatically resign.
Can I be on medical leave and receive benefits while unemployed? Or will I need to apply for unemployment benefits instead?
