We will be joining some friends for their first Japan visit, thus the basic frame of the trip is Tokyo-Osaka. Looking to hit up a nice rural-ish area in between for a ryokan stay.
Okuhida looks cool, but the other variable is that they have two kids (one elementary school, one middle school), so wondering if there are any recommended spots that don’t require long bus rides. The kids are not super picky and are adventurous for their age, but still want to be reasonable and make it enjoyable for all.
