Hi all,
My girlfriend and I are going travelling in a few weeks time and our first stop is Japan (can’t wait!). I’m in the process of really working out a proper itinerary (I didn’t realise until recently you sort of have to book it in advance).
First off, we’ve never been, so the rail system is a bit overwhelming as I’m sure most newcomers will agree!
If we are staying in Osaka and want to visit mount koya, Nara, Kyoto and Kobe, is the best option to get a Kansai rail pass? I was thinking we do a day trip to Mount koya (back to Osaka overnight), then a trip to Kyoto via Nara, then a trip down to Kobe (as our 3 non consecutive days).
Is this viable? £38 for all that seems like a steal (when you compare it to the UK where I’m from).
Also, does anyone know if this includes the cable car at Koyasan? I saw that it includes A cable car but not sure if this is the only one in the area to get up the mountain.
Thanks!
