JR Tokyo wide pass or bus tour

I've been browsing Klook for our Tokyo trip this December 1-8, and I stumbled upon the Tokyo Wide Pass. It can take us to so many places for three days, and it's a bit more expensive than hopping on a bus tour. But here's the catch: it's our first time in Tokyo, and knowing us, we'll probably end up lost in the middle of nowhere, trying to decode a train map that looks like spaghetti. Also, asking for directions? Well, let's just say my Japanese is still at the "smile and wave" stage. And don't get me started on Google Maps—great in the city, but once we're out in the provinces, it's like, "Good luck, my friend."

Now, the bus tour sounds like a lifesaver—no guessing, no stress, just sit back, relax, and let someone else do the navigating. But of course, it's only a day tour, and they run a tight ship, so if I want to spend 15 minutes gawking at a vending machine that sells soup, I’m out of luck. But hey, at least we won’t be wandering Tokyo Station like lost kittens.

Decisions, decisions… Pass or tour? Less chaos or more freedom? More destinations or just one? Either way, I'll probably need a vacation after the vacation!
