Im currently 3.5 weeks into my 5 week trip to Japan and to be honest, kinda running out of steam. I was planning on doing a day trip to Nikko from my hotel in Tokyo but wondering if I should scrap it (seems to be 5-ish hours of train total, similar scenery to what Ive in Kansai already). Especially if it’s full of other tourists already I’m hesitant.
But what did you feel? Do you think it was beautifully stunning and absolutely worth it and I’m foolish for considering otherwise?
Edit: compared to Kusatsu maybe? Since that’s the other daytrip I’m kinda weighing it against. I know they’re completely different, but which was really a must see ?
