Hi,
My wife and I will be travelling to Japan with our 2yr old daughter from Nov 8-18 this year. This would be our first visit. Here is an itinerary that I have thought of so far. Request inputs, suggestions and feedback.
Day 1:Nov 8, 2024
2PM arrival at Narita International Airport, Tokyo,
Transfer to accommodation in Shinjuku city, Check-in, rest after flight, and explore nearby areas if time permits.
Day 2: Visit Senso-ji temple in Asakusa, Explore Tokyo gyoen national park, Explore Tokyo Skytree, Stroll around Akihabara/Ginza district
Day 3: Visit Meiji Shrine, Team Borderless, Explore Harajuku and Shibuya Crossing
Day 4: trip to Mt. Fuji via bus or train (visit Kawaguchiko or Hakone area) – Enjoy view of Mt. Fuji, Take a cruise on lake Kawaguchi, Ride the Mt. Fuji Panoramic Ropeway, Return to Tokyo in the evening. Is an overnight stay recommended?
Day 5: Bullet Train (Shinkansen) to Kyoto, Visit Fushimi Inari Shrine, Explore Gion district
Day 6: Visit Kinkaku-ji (Golden Pavilion), Explore Arashiyama Bamboo Forest
Day 7: Visit Nijo Castle, Nara park
Day 8: Train from Kyoto to Osaka, Visit Osaka Castle, Explore Dotonbori District in the evening
Day 9:Open to ideas
Day 10:Bullet train (Shinkansen) back to Tokyo, Free day for shopping or visiting attractions I may have missed
Day 11: Departure – Flight from Narita International Airport, Tokyo at 6:25PM
I am wondering if I should do an overnight stay at Hakone or Fujikawaguchiko or Takayama? Also should I visit Mt. Fuji on my way back from Kyoto and have the first 4 days completely for Tokyo. Please help!
