First Solo Trip in Japan

Hello!

I am planning my first solo trip in Japan. I have already been to Tokyo almost 10 years ago and I wanted to go back and see more of Japan ever since. Right now I have a rough schedule and I was wondering if it's reasonable or if somethings could be better fixed!

Please help me out!

Btw I'm gonna be there in summertime (which I know its gonna be really hard), but I'm Italian and I already survived 2 summers in Florida and 1 in South Korea + I only can take days off during August because the company I work for closes down during that period…

Thanks in advance!

  1. Hi if you havent booked your flight/accoms yet, suggest to book to osaka (kix) instead for arrival, then hit kyoto first. Then do hiroshima –> takayama —> hakone –> tokyo. Then book the flight back from either of tokyo’s airport!

As the trf from tky -> kyo -> hiroshima and then back to takayama is like going back and forth (will waste more time transferring haha).

    All the best

  2. Explore Mitaka park and Kichijoj on day 3.

Check out the Rinkai ferris wheel near Disney.

    Do Himeji and Kobe together.

    Add Kanazawa to Takayama.

Hakone is not necessary unless you do a nice onsen ryokan.

By the time I saw Nikko, I was getting exhausted. You are maybe stacking a little too many excursions.

I would add a very nice restaurant reservation to Tokyo, and a few more “let it ride” days if possible.
