I am visiting in Kansai later this month with family (2 kids, 3 children)for 7 nights (3 in Kyoto and 4 in Osaka) and I have a few options for day trips:
– Uji and Nara (probably from Kyoto or possibly from Osaka but looks harder)
– Himeji
– Kurashiki / Okayama
– Hiroshima/Miyajima.
I think we will probably do Uji/Nara but I am getting conflicting advice on whether to go to Okayama/Kurashiki , Hiroshima/Miyajima, or just instead spend more time in Kyoto.
Is it really worth it to try and be on the road for day trips instead of exploring Kyoto more (and Osaka of course but that should be quick). Any other recommendations in the area?
