This might be a longshot and the last relevant thread I found in JL was 11 years old, but are there any RC plane enthusiasts here? I have a few general questions and concerns like:
- Will I have any problems using a U.S./FCC rated transmitter in Japan?
- I won't be running anything more serious than a basic 2.4g one
- Do I need a license to fly an RC plane or use a generic transmitter?
- Are there any designated RC airstrips around here? Where I came from on the East Coast, there's like 5 within a couple hour drive from me
- Otherwise, where can I fly that's not an obvious no-fly zone like near an Airport etc.
From what I found on MLIT's website, it seems like they have some common sense rules about flying but also some stipulation about reporting flight plans and keeping logs. Also I think I need to register any planes (not sure if it will be a problem bringing a plane over from the U.S.).
