Sending Medication to Australia from Japan

I just went to the post office to send a package back to my family in Australia. They requested those pain patches you can get without a prescription from any pharmacy and also motion sickness tablets that you can also get without a prescription. The lady at the post office told me I can't send any type of medication that's taken orally or on the skin.. Which I found weird because I've sent this stuff before. Also when I googled it, it said its fine. But she would not let me send it.

Have the rules changed? Or was she misinformed? Is it still possible for me to send them somehow?

If anyone can help me get the right information it would be appreciated at lot, thank you.
