I walked into my local Family Mart recently and saw these warning cards in front of the prepaid cards for Apple Store, Google Play, etc. Wish I could post the image here…
Thought it was a really neat way of trying to address the fraud issue going on. For those that don't know much about it, people, especially the elderly folk, are receiving phone calls from scammers and being convinced to buy these prepaid cards from their local convenience store and send the codes to the scammers and apparently lots of people are falling for this, the dialogue can sometimes be quite elaborate and convincing, especially for people who have little awareness of such scams.
These warnings add that layer of protection/ awareness people need just before they buy one. It has a little picture of a police officer with the Uncle Sam pointing his finger at you pose, think it really stood out, especially when the whole wall of cards had one on every card.
