Hello everyone. I am a writer and I'm currently working on a short story where kintsugi forms a major part of the plot and I would be very grateful for any and all information on regards to the history of the craft, particularly in the the latter half of the 17th century/1600s
My main questions are:
Historically speaking, were there any particular regions known for kintsugi or was the craft practiced everywhere?
Historically was it a specialised skill, or was it common practice? And if it was a specialised skill, what would a master craftsmen of it be called?
How long would it take to learn how to do it?
Historically, how would one store Kiurushi? And how shelf stable would it be?
Thank you all in advance
Edit: I have tried doing my own research, but most answers I've gotten are either incredibly vague or not specific to the time period I am looking at (the latter half of the 1600s ) I know its a pain and you all probably get thousands of people like myself asking such things, but I would be insanely grateful to any information you have/ a point in the right direction
