Welcome suica post expiration reuse

Husband and I are in Japan using welcome suica cards and we’re starting to plan a second trip here.
I noticed on the website that it says the cards expire and then we are welcome to keep the cards as a souvenir… but I was curious when we come for a second visit can we reuse those cards again some how with a new reference paper to avoid waste of a second welcome card being issued?
