Hello, I am planning to attend a language school in Japan for three months starting in April of next year. I am currently going through Go Go Nihon as my advisor and we eventually settled on applying for one of the ISI schools in Tokyo. Even though Tokyo may have some of the highest living costs in the country, it will also be my first time in Japan, so Tokyo seemed like an obvious choice.
Of all the ISI campuses in Tokyo, I settled on either Takadanobaba or Shibuya because they are more career/job-focused, and I don't have much interest in going on to attend Japanese universities. (I already have a bachelor's from an American university back home). Also, their tuition rates seem the most reasonable.
I have also heard of ISI Ikebukuro, which actually seems like the Tokyo campus with the lowest tuition costs. I was told that this campus also has seats available for the April 2025 intake. So is also an option.
I was just wondering if anyone has any experiences with ISI at the Takadanobaba, Shibuya, or Ikebukuro campuses or could recommend one for me.
I want to choose a school with medium or medium-high intensity since I am not adverse to studying, and actually would like to learn as much Japanese as I can while there but am mainly going to be in Japan to explore and immerse myself in the culture (which also goes hand-in-hand with learning the language…).
But cost is definitely a big (perhaps the biggest) consideration for me as I'm on a budget and would not want to drain my savings.
