I’ve been learning Japanese for around a year now, but I’ve only recently dedicated myself seriously several hours a day a couple of months ago. I did a couple of JLPT N4 mock tests and I reliably get around 85-90% correct answers. I’ve been thinking about taking the JLPT N4 this december, but the registration period ends in 2 weeks, and I wonder if I should rather sign up for N3 and try my best to reach the adequate level in 2.5 months, or sign up for the N4 and be assured to get it with a good grade.
Is it realistically possible to go from N4 to N3 in less than 3 months ? I study several hours a day but I can’t do super intensive studying 12hrs a day since I also have a full time job.
Thanks in advance, and sorry for the poor grammar, english’s not my native language.

Do the same level as the mocks you’ve been doing. If you get a good grade, it will boost your confidence to reach the next level. If you do one above and fail, it may have a negative impact on your confidence.
Don’t rush it. 😁
Do N4, in terms of real world benefits, N4 and N3 are pretty equal (as in, they don’t have any), and aiming high and then failing will make you lose motivation. Do N4 and get a grade you’ll be proud of.
