I was still new to NJPW at that time, Ishii biting the top rope to deny the dragon suplex completely blew my mind
Kenny and Ishii is such an underrated serious of matches. That G1 match from 2018 where Ishii broke Kenny’s undefeated streak is still one of my favourite matches of all time.
Hopefully he stays in aew or ospreay finally goes over.
I was there for that match. The crowd slowly realizing that Ishii was biting the rope was one of my favorite moments of that night.
This match has my favorite V Trigger sell ever. It’s not in the cut posted but I remember it took two knees and on the second Ishii just collapsed rather than be sent flying back like usual. Great match.
