Basically i dont care to read and write at the start, mostly interested in fluent listening and speaking.
I love language transfer, duolingo, assimil and pimsleur.
What are ur favorite listening resources?
Guess il watch a shit ton of anime and keep studying lol!
Good luck to u all.
If i can learn arabic russian and greek im sure japanese listening will be wayyy easier.
Its very clear and phonetic with simple a,e,i,o,u vowel system.
Similar to how clear italian is.

You seem like a prime candidate for the /r/refold method
This is an over-simplification, but you basically study a little grammar, then dive into learning vocabulary from the stuff you want to be able to understand.
https://refold.la/simplified (their list of [resources](https://refold.link/japanese))
I can say with 100% certainty that you aren’t going to be able to listen and speak without also learning how to read – resources past beginner level no longer use the alphabet to represent Japanese words. You’re going to have to learn to read to progress. Your prior language learning experience will help but it will still take *years*. I speak Korean, which is probably the closest language to Japanese, and while it was easier for me to learn Japanese than most it still took me a lot of time. There are no shortcuts to language-learning.
