He almost shouldn’t be arrested at that point – seems like he’s doing just fine 😂
Kind of seems like a waste of everyone’s time at this point.
Yeah, if he could drive 50 years with almost no incident, he should just get his gold card. There are enough people with a license, who shouldn’t have one.
Did he ever get in any accidents?
Edit; Read the article, he couldn’t pass the written test 6 times so he gave up trying. The accident he had was hitting the back of another car with this tri-motorbike, and when the police questioned him they found he never had a license.
Wow
I can relate – I once got a ticket in NYC where I had to argue with the police (a little) to make it look good. Because of weird circumstances I had neither license or insurance.
Boss Oyaji LVL 100
> The officer told the suspect to pull over, but he sped off down a narrow path that the car couldn’t enter. One of the officers jumped out of the car and followed on foot, eventually catching up to the motorcycle at a dead end
*benny hill theme plays *
So much for enforcement.
I’m honestly not surprised with Japan being Japan that traffic cameras just never picked this up.
Ive gotten traffic stopped several times what difference? 差別 at its finest
Just came here to say,

nice

Imagine how much money he’s saved on inspections, insurance etc. Probably a fortune!
I am not condoning this behaviour but I am maybe a little bit curious about it.
I have heard this same story atleast 4-5 times before. How are these folks getting their JCI renewed every year without a license? A car rolling around with 50 year old plates and tags might be a little obvious wouldn’t it?
I have a running joke with my partner. I call old people like this in Japan ‘OjiG’
“How long did you drive without a license?”
“I’ve been on the road 50 years.”
“You must be hungry!”
“Starving! And I really, really have to use the bathroom.”
Not counting the hit-and-run, he’s only getting “up to” a 500,000 yen fine, for driving without a license for 50 years.
500,000\50 == only 10,000 yen per year… It’s a fucking BARGAIN!
ROFL But the article calls this his “very costly lifestyle choice.”
How is this even possible?
I hope they arrested him just so they could take him to the police station and give him the license they’d been saving for him for 49 years
Haha 69 haha funni
