I’ll be in Kumamoto in the afternoon of December 2nd and will stay there for the next 2 days. Google Maps indicates I can ride a JR train up till some point and then transfer to a bus operated by SankoBus to reach the shrine. But it doesn’t look quite easy to me. Some websites state there are no buses on weekends (when I’ll be travelling), and on Street View I only see one bus stop (a plain wooden structure) on one side of the road, but none on the other. It seems rural, so I doubt I could ask anyone there where the bus stop is. Anyone have any advice?
