HomeMoving to JapanQuestion: what are the chances of getting a PR without the point system in Japan when you meet all the possible criteria (10 years same well paid job, no travel to home country, no traffic tickets, no criminal record, all taxes paid, lots of savings) but you’re single with no kids and 50 years old?

Is your lawyer in Japan or just pulling numbers out of their butt? We aren’t the people in charge of making the decision , we can’t determine your chances. Anecdotally, I know someone who got PR in their late forties that matches your description.
If you meet all the requirements and have a stable income you are probably fine.
Thanks. It’s the lawyer in charge of my PR that I am talking about. In Japan of course. I admit I am getting some anxiety because of this number so feedback on similar experiences would probably help.
