Spoken language but in text?

How does that work? Do Japanese people type (in informal situations) how they speak too? Like I typed earlier to my friend “I ain’t do it cuz I didn’t wanna”. Would they do things like that in Japanese when they’re texting each other? Like I just learned that they say 月曜 instead of 月曜日。Is that something they would type in a text?

  1. Yeah, they absolutely would. For example, people tend to type the slurred pronunciations for words (e.g. あっちー instead of あつい).

Saying 月曜 is also quite common, but honestly not particularly slangy.
