How many kanji per day is too many with RTK? And what is the most effective way to study with RTK?

I’ve been doing maybe 20+ per day with RTK and Kanji Koohii. My stats on my daily reviews are pretty good and I usually get all of them correct. To be honest, the whole process is kind of addicting and I wanna do more, but I’m worried that doing too much will negatively impact my recall. So, any opinions/experiences to help me decide what’s the best path?

Also, since I’m already making this post, how do other people study with RTK? Is what I’m doing effective? For me, I go through my flash cards with the meaning first and write the kanji in my chomen before flipping to see if it’s correct.

Thank you in advance for your reply and sorry for the bad formatting (mobile) 🙂

  1. I did 30 without any problems. I even know people who did 50+. I think it’s important to get rtk out of the way as quickly as possible (if you decide to do rtk), so I’d say to just go for it.

your process seems fine to me

  2. How far into it are you? It’s easy to do 20 new kanji per day for the first 500 or so, but for me became a real pain when I passed 1200. So I dropped to 5 per day for a while before moving back to 10 new per day for the last 600 or so.
