I am considering coming to japan in late November for about 2-3 weeks. I was sadly told that the region I was most excited about, Sapporo, is not great during that time (I heard there is not much to do before the snow falls, and it is not very pretty as the leaves have already fallen off). Thus, I wanted to ask if it is correct that I will be able to catch the fall foliage in the last half of November in both Kyoto and Tokyo?
Also, any recommendations where I should spend the time I was planning for Sapporo/Hokkaido? One option is to stay longer in Tokyo and Osaka/Kyoto, but I was thinking there might be a region that is especially worth visiting at this point, and not so much in February-April (which is when I would come again if I really really liked Japan).

Google Japan Fall Foliage 2022 and a bunch of forecast for where things will be at peak color when will come up. Or Google City Name + Autumn Leaves. Tons of info in English out there.
As a long, skinny country it’s pretty easy to find fall leaves somewhere in November (late November is good in Kansai area and early December is usually good for Tokyo).
