It never ceases to amaze me how little privacy I have over my salary here. Today my adjusted pay-slip was posted on my division’s group chat. I don’t know if this is a Japan specific thing, but it irks me out.
Most companies keep pay secret and discourage sharing details so they can underpay as many people as possible. Maybe having yours revealed is uncomfortable for you, but assuming all salary at your company is open that’s a pretty good move for general fairness
