Hey guys sorry if this may have been asked before but searched and haven’t found an appropriate answer yet. Anyway, can you do the whole process of a COE and visa outside of your home country? Say for instance you’re in Japan on a WHV (working holiday visa) then find a killer job and decide to switch visas yet you need to leave the country. Would you HAVE TO go back to your home country or can you do it at the Japanese embassy in say Thailand? Many thanks in advance!

Most of the embassies won’t deal with you if you don’t live there. That said, which country are you from? People in on a WHV can often just submit a Change of Status at Immigration inside the country rather than doing the whole COE->Visa->Status thing all over again.
