I know everyone on this page is tired of answering the same questions about US/JPN dual citizen workarounds but I’m wondering what your thoughts are about highlighting having dual citizenship for a career perspective.
Im in Japan freelancing for a US based global team and many of them include their multiple nationalities in their profile descriptions when working and creating proposals for clients. I‘m not sure if adding mine would “out” that I’m kind of not following Japanese law?
If questioned could I say that I have endeavoured to renounce so I can actually keep both with no legal issue (haven’t endeavoured but will if necessary)? Or am I mistaken about this and it’s better to pretend I only have one? I am above age 22 if that matters.

The only way that works is if you were born into dual status, or if you come from a country that does not allow citizens to renounce.
With your “endeavored” comment, know that they saw people like you coming miles away, years ago.
