Rakuten Rakuma 楽天ラクマ Buyer protection?

I bought a small bag (everyday carry) for casual use that was listed as brand new. However, upon receiving the item – I noticed there was some light wear and tear on the buckles. In addition, the strap adjuster was completely missing – so it’s not actually possible to use the bag itself. I’m familiar with Mercari buyer protection, but does Rakuma work the same way? I’ve opened a line of communication with the seller – but they haven’t responded yet. I’m thinking to wait one more day before opening a claim case with customer support. I suppose the funds are held (like Mercari) until the issue is resolved? I know that rating the transaction is a no go since it “seals the deal”. Anyway, if anyone has experience with Rakuma – I’d really appreciate your input! Thanks for your time, everyone.

  1. You should report it to Rakuten if the bag was advertised as new but clearly isn’t. I also wouldn’t trust working directly with the seller considering that they know they ripped you off.
