Although I have great interest in applying for JET, I also would like to keep my options open and apply to other programs as well. I’m looking to teach abroad in Finland, Spain or other EU countries. Does anyone know of specific programs similar to JET?

The FET program in Taiwan and EPIK in Korea.
Which country are you in? If you’re in the UK there’s the British Council which has a language assistant scheme with links to Europe, Canada, South and Central America, and China.
If you’re in the US, there’s the [NALCAP](https://www.educacionyfp.gob.es/eeuu/convocatorias-programas/convocatorias-eeuu/nalcap.html) for Spain and [TAPIF](https://frenchhighereducation.org/teaching-assistant-program) for France.
As others have mentioned, the salaries in places like Spain and France are low compared to what JET offers (it’s usually anywhere between 700 to 1200 euros a month). *However*, you will most likely be working part-time in these programmes and cost of living can be cheap (especially in Spain).
I’m not 100% sure if it’s still running, but there is the Teach and Learn programme in Georgia.
I don’t know anything in Europe but Taiwan and Korea both have programs modeled on JET.
If you are American, the Peace Corps has several programs sending teachers to a long list of developing countries – if that’s your thing.
Someone at my orientation mentioned there’s a similar program running in France.
EPIK and GNET are almost a 1:1 experience with JET in South Korea. They usually hire twice a year.
If you’re American, it’s much more competitive but you could consider applying to be a Fulbright English Teaching Assistant. There are positions avaliable in many countries.
Epik in Korea
Better than JET! Japan Exchange!
