I’m not surprised. I hope Japan starts taking LGBTQ+ rights seriously ASAP
It’s an interesting statistic, but unless I’m misreading something, it doesn’t say how to compares with the general population of teenagers. I’d like to see the full picture.
Only half?
Not shocking, sadly. There’s was student in my school that I’d never met because she was bullied for being a lesbian so badly that she attempted suicide and then quit coming to school in her first year. She was still enrolled the whole time and I guess has graduated now? From what I was told, she came out to a friend and that girl turned around and outed her to the whole school. The other teachers’ attitude about it was very nonchalant about it when telling me, and there was almost an attitude of “she should’ve known better than to talk about stuff like that” to it.
