  1. Favourite spot: Floating Torii Gate of Oouo Shrine at high-tide at dawn over Ariake Sea in Tara, Saga.

Runners-up: Jodogahama Beach at dawn in Miyako, Iwate and Kairakuen during plum blossom season in Mito, Ibaraki.

Favourite couples eating out activity: gorging on Rikuro’s cheesecake, getting a cup of coffee in Nakameguro or Kichijoji.

  2. Nara and the wandering deer that you can feed. So much fun and very romantic (assuming your partner likes animals). We were staying in Osaka at the time and it’s an easy ~40 min train ride. We liked it so much we went back the next day!

  3. We picnic at Kamo River, Kyoto. There’s this cafe that rent picnic mat, basket, stool w coffee & cookies set for the picnic. It was an easy, relaxing day.
