The issue is depreciation of the currency by something close to 40%, which is driving up staple imports like i don’t know, *oil and natural gas*. Japan currently imports nearly 90% of its energy which is why they’re focusing so hard on electrical costs because they’re what’s jumping up the fastest most likely. The problem is, once they start injecting this money into the system in an effort to lower energy costs in the short term, they WILL drive inflation up later
