Hello! I’m wondering if its worth it to transfer my Train pass to apple wallet and if so, would I have any trouble renewing the card for the monthly payment? Thank you in advance!
It is possible to get youre commuter pass registered just by scanning the card however with a minor inconvenience
I don’t know how it is now but in 2018 it was a pain to renew my student commuter pass as re-registration had to be done online instead of the stationmaster doing it for you
context: there are two types of renewal, the first one is topping up your months within the academic year (no id required), and the second one is renewing the academic year, you need to show proof of student ID to a stationmaster every time you have to renew (usually in April) to get the discount so even after filling in the online form you still have to go to the station
You might have to fax a photo of your apple wallet to someone before the night is over
For My PASMO, I had to do a renewal manually once through the App, since the number on the card changes. It did not affect currently active pass.
Once the first renewal was made manually, then it’s painless. Can pay through apple pay or through the app.
