Regarding Karl Anderson and the NEVER Openweight Championship | NEW JAPAN PRO-WRESTLING

  1. Now question, if they have a shitty time in WWE again and either want out or get released, will they be able to go back to New Japan or did they salt the earth?

  2. It would be easier to have sympathy for NJPW if it hadn’t been asinine to put a belt on Anderson in the first place.

  3. so embarrassing to be doing whatever this is for karl fucking anderson while you have someone like juice sitting around being relentlessly beat like a drum, and guys like sanada & taichi who probably won’t have anything of note to do at WK

  4. I’ve been trying to figure out who looks worse here:

Is it New Japan, who killed the momentum of a hot babyface to put a title on 53 year old Karl Anderson, who hasn’t been relevant in a decade and didn’t have a contract? And when he decided to screw you over, rather than stripping him immediately and never booking him again, you bent over backwards and made it into an angle?

Or is it Karl Anderson, who’s stunk it up everywhere he’s gone for the past six years? And when the only company that wants to give you any significant push put a title on you, you sleepwalk through matches and immediately dick them over and go somewhere else for more and dirtier money?

  5. Literally who gives a fuck, it’s the NEVER title.

Edit: apparently 35 people give a fuck.

  6. I should be mad with the situation & Anderson, but I’m just glad we can move on and hopefully never see him again.

I still say running Hikuleo/EVIL at Battle Autumn is the best thing to do.

  7. Reschedule the match to Oct 27 or Nov 3, drop it to Hikuleo, then have Hikuleo defend it on Nov 5. No one who bought tickets for the 5th bought tickets just to see Anderson exclusively anyway

  8. There’s a show in the same location (but smaller setup) two days before. How hard is it to just move the match 2 days ahead and be done with it?

  9. Just strip him of the title and be done with this stupid ass crap.

This is just like when New Japan stripped Moxley at the stupidest time. Stupidity at its finest.

  10. So once they’ve sorted out the final for the new belt, they can have another tournament during the tag league for the NEVER

  11. Still a work. Either to just have the excuse to strip him of the belt or creat an angle when he refuses to get the belt off him on a later date.

Possibly to have Hikuleo come off as a hero when all is said and done.

  12. work or not right call but they never should of put the belt on him to begin with this could of been 10 worse if it were the Heavyweight title just like with Brock Lesnar in 2006

  13. The equity of this belt really feels like it’s at an all-time low. I wouldn’t be opposed to it unifying with the US title tbh.

  14. While what Karl did was kinda shitty, NJPW is also at fault too as from my understanding, Karl isn’t signed to NJPW, just working on a contractor basis. Both are at fault in this situation and it’s actually becoming kinda funny at this point.

  15. Make it a thing, he refuses to turn over the belt and they have Twitter and Instagram back-and-forth of him just refusing to give it back because he is and he won fairly. Have him ambushed somewhere or something make it a bit and is less embarrassing

  16. Can u imagine is Hikelo goes to saudi just to win the belt off Karl. Think of the attention the kid would get not only for winning a Nj tittle in a wwe ring in saudi but the eyes on NJPW and Wwe even if there was no working realtionship after the fact the buzz

But mainly the belt comes back to japan and Hikelo looks like a star

  17. They’re going to have to just take the title back bc Hunter isn’t going to let any WWE guy work a match for a different company unless there’s a business relationship between them. I could be wrong but historically that doesn’t really happen, on occasion sure, but generally not.
