is it hopeless without any major degree?

Hi! I’ll be going to japan to learn the language in a japanese language school in kyoto. My stay would be for 2 years, and my plan was to secure a job in QA over there while i was studying and to hopefully be able to either stay or go back quickly there to live there. My long term goal is to immigrate there.

I already have a good 5 years of experience in QA. I am a team lead so i got experience in management at that level also another job in management. If that would help, i am a m24 from Canada, i speak fluent french and english. Currently learning japanese too while waiting to go there. I don’t have any other degree than highschool. Money ain’t a problem.

My question would be, do i have any chance at finding a company in japan that would hire me and get me a work visa? Or is it just hopeful thinking?

  1. Having a degree or 10 years of relevant working experience is a requirement, not a recommendation.

  2. You can go to senmongakkou after nihongo gakkou so you can get the visa. Some schools offer both
