I bought a couple of games while in japan and wonder in which order I should tackle them. I don’t think I’m ready yet, but if I know how hard they are to understand relative to each other, I can make a roadmap of goals I can aim for, and also just try it out to see if I’m ready.
I’m aware that I will have to look up stuff regardless of how ready I think I am.
I list them in the order I would expect, from easiest to hardest. I’d appreciate if someone could comment on the order of the pokemon games relative to each other in case it makes a difference.
– Inazuma Eleven
– Pokemon X
– Pokemon Moon
– Pokemon Omega Ruby
– Dragonball Kai Attack of the Saiyans
– Gyakuten Kenji 2
– Tales of Hearts
– Tales of Innocence
– Tales of the Tempest

The only thing I can really talk about are the pokemon games and those are generally very easy and comfortable to play in Japanese. The order looks in general pretty good, I know that the tales series is a big story heavy at times so having them near the end sounds good. The order of the pokemon games looks also good although omega Ruby was released in the same generation as X/Y the original was released way before so you could play that one whenever you want. The few things I know about inazuma eleven are that it’s a football/soccer game so the gameplay might be a little bit difficult at the beginning depending on your knowledge of the language. That’s why I might suggest playing the pokemon games first since those are mostly straightforward.
You might just try each game for 10 min, and see which one you feel like is easiest. Though I would assume that the Tales games and Gyakuten Kenji 2 would be the hardest.
I would also assume that Dragonball Kai Attack of the Saiyans would be easier then any of the pokemon grames, and Inazuma Eleven as the most easiest, as I think it’s games have furigana.
I think, out of the pokemon games, Pokemon Moon would be the easiest. I think it was the pokemon game that held your hand the most out of any pokemon game I played.
